The research on the Planetary Astrophysics in SHAO is in fast developing.

The research fields include dynamics of planets and planetary systems, exoplanets,  planet interiors,  protoplanet ary disks and planet formation. SHAO is also leading the study of the Earth 2.0 space mission aiming at detecting habitable Earth-like planets around solar type stars and free-floating low-mass planets with the satellite to be launched in 2026.

Faculties in SHAO involved in this field include Profs. Defu Bu, Jian Ge*, Xinhao Liao*, Feng Yuan, etc.

Note: groups and/or individual members labelled “*” are associated ones, mostly from the Radio Division of SHAO.
