SHAO Astrophysics Colloquium
Title: What have we learned about extrasolar planets with microlensing?
Speaker: Shude Mao (Tsinghua University)
Time: 3:00 pm, April 25 (Thursday)
Location: Lecture Hall, 3rd floor
Abstract: Microlensing has become a powerful method to detect extrasolar planets, which is also one of the main science drivers of the WFIRST mission. In this talk, I will first introduce the basic concepts of microlensing, review some recent progress of the field (including free-floating planets and the mass ratio function) and then discuss the future outlook.
