Abstract

The large-scale environment is the formation stage of galaxies, in which galaxies gain their gas, and angular momentum and merge with smaller satellites galaxies. Studying the large-scale structures themselves and their impact on galaxies would offer us an opportunity to reveal the formation of cosmic structures and how they affect the galaxy formation within them. In this talk, I will introduce our work over the past few years. The first observational evidence of spin of large-scale filaments themself, and the 'two-stage' model of halo spin formation and evolution within the large-scale environment.

CV

Dr. Peng Wang(王鹏) obtained his PhD from the Purple Mountain Observatory in 2019, then he conducted three years of postdoctoral research at Leibniz-Institut für Astrophysik Potsdam (AIP), Germany. He has been an associate research professor at Shanghai Astronomical Observatory since March 2022. His recent work is focused on the galaxy formation within the cosmic web and the satellite distribution.
