Title：Measuring kinetic temperature in molecular clouds and its application for Astro-chemistry

Abstract：Kinetic temperature is one of the most important parameters of molecular cloud. However, it is not easy to measure it accurately. In this talk, I will introduce the advantages and dis-advantages of the methods in literature first. Then I will focus on how CH3CCH lines can well trace kinetic temperature in molecular cores, from about 10K to higher than 100K, while the widely used NH3(1,1)&(2,2) combination can only trace gas colder than 20K. With well determined gas temperature, it is possible to discuss some astro-chemical process during star formation, such as the evolution of  relative abundance between HCN and HNC, during the evolution of molecular clouds.

CV：Junzhi Wang is a professor at Guangxi University. He received his PhD degree in 2005 from Peking University, worked as post-doc in Purple Mountain Observatory, CAS, and as an associate in Nanjing University, a research professor in Shanghai Astronomical Observatory, CAS. His main interests include, star formation in nearby galaxies and the Milky Way, ISM and astro-chemistry, AGN feedback, Megamasers, etc.
